Perfect Blackjack Stragety.
For each starting hand vs the dealer’s face card there is only one course
of action (stand, hit, double, split, surrender) that is the best option. There
is no "Last time I got 17 against the dealers 2, I decided to stand and
then the dealer got 18, so this time I'll hit". Just because you lost
the previous hand of 17 against 2 does not mean that you hit this time.
The perfect blackjack strategy is not something we have to figure out
ourselves, it has already been established, tried and tested for decades so all
we have to do is to use of it. The strategy differs slightly depending on how
many decks are used, but the difference is not great.
It is important to note though that if you play the perfect strategy the
casino will still have the edge of the player in the long run. That is why you
must learn to count cards.
Card Counting
The casinos don't want you to count cards and will think up a reason for
kicking you out if the suspect of being a card counter. But counting cards is
actually not illegal as long as you only make use of your brain and not some
technical device.
Blackjack is actually the only game, as far as I know, where the player
will have a statistical edge over the casino if he is able to count cards
correctly. But in order to beat the blackjack table card counting must be used
together with the perfect strategy.
If you want
to learn the perfect strategy and card counting I recommend the "BlackjackStrategy and Card Counting 101" by Ryan
Carter. It gives a straight forward, no jargon tutorial on what the
strategy and card counting is all about. Also, it gives you some exercises on
how to practice them.
